Are there any free realistic mmo's?

I'm sick of all these mmorpgs that don't have blood or actual damage. I'm sick of getting hit by a sword or mace or bullet and seeing a little sparkle or flash of light. I would like to know if there are any mmo first person rpgs that are free? anything useful would be nice including single player games about the same setup as long as there free and not kiddie or animated like a cartoon or anime.
