Is there any value in creative visualization methods?

Is there any value, benefit in creative visualization methods such as the silva method, cosmic ordering or the secret or methods like self hypnosis or the Sedona Method? These are all basically just techniques that you can use to clearly visualize a goal in your mind, in a deeply relaxed and receptive state of mind to firmly implant in your subconscious mind that goal which is supposed to put your subconscious to work in order to make these things happen. Some believe that these sorts of practices help you harness the creative power of the universe while other feel that it just attunes your mind better so that you see opportunities and solutions that help you attain your goals easier. What do you think is it worth learning such a technique, what are your experiances with this sort of thing?
