Was there ever a Dukedom of Chester? or Duke of Chester title?

Has a title of Duke of Chester ever existed? Was it part of the peerage of England? If it sounds mistaken, which would be the proper/correct title? Has a Roland, Duke of Chester, during the 12th century (1147?), ever existed?
