What do you mean by strategic planning? explain stages involved in corporate level strategic planning process?

Well, a simple explanation maybe be where and how a company wants to be in the future, say 5-10-20 years from now. Strategic planning involves a guide line of procedures to follow to reach a certain goal in the future. Not only deciding on certain projects, but also ehat kind of rate each project should have, how they are going to be financed, corporate structure and finance.
